Auditors Roundup (ROI) 2020

Kathryn Burns & Jonathan McGee of the Mercia Ireland group will present this popular annual review of what is topical in the world of auditing and practice.

Session 1: 10 December

Session 2: 11 December

9:30am to 12.30pm

This is usually a one-day update emphasising the practical rather than the technical, and in this unique year, it will consist of 2 sessions of 3 hours each, involving both speakers, and will be presented as an online Mercia Live event with opportunities to ask questions.  The course deals with the major changes affecting practitioners in 2020 and those likely to impact in 2021.

The course will make detailed reference to changes in the following:

  • Audit Update – including Auditing Standards and Ethical Standard issues;
  • Changes in ISA 540 Accounting Estimates and ISA 570 Going Concern;
  • Audit Reports amidst the COVID-19 Crisis;
  • Practical audit issues and how to address them on audit files;
  • Top ISA file deficiencies;
  • Monitoring feedback – key problem areas and topical matters;
  • Accounting – what’s changed - and in particular, the impact on Small & Micro companies;
  • Acting for groups – accounting and auditing issues;
  • Auditors and Accountants reporting responsibilities;
  • Company Law Update;
  • Impact of COVID-19 on accounting practices;
  • AML – what’s happening?

Note that the topics may be varied in order to deal with issues which have become more significant at the time of delivery of the course.
